Community Strategy Manager at Google, Inc.
Description
You’ll a lead a high-performing team focused on Google’s community of ardent users. You’ll develop and execute the strategy for how to leverage social media and community to support the success of Google’s diverse set of consumer products like Gmail, Blogger, and Google Maps. You’ll live within the operations organization but partner effectively with product marketing, product management, and public relations to execute a company-wide community strategy. You’re extremely organized and work well within a fast-paced, impact oriented group.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Consumer Operations management team in implementing, managing, and analyzing the ROI for community oriented projects.
- Develop a comprehensive plan for identifying, recruiting, managing and maintaining Top Contributors (influencers) and Trusted Testers for our products.
- Work with product managers, engineers, and operations teams to further develop and operate Google hosted forums (www.google.com/support/forum).
- Collaborate with operations leads in other departments (AdWords, AdSense, etc.) and global regions to ensure a consistent community experience.
- Manage and develop a team of community development specialists.
Requirements:
- BA/BS degree with a strong academic record preferred (MBA or other advanced degree a plus)
- At least 7 years of experience in technology-related product management, product marketing, operations and/or consulting (customer-facing experience preferred).
- Proven track record of creating and maintaining strategy for successful online communities/social media
- Distinctive problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to work globally and cross-functionally in an ambiguous environment
- Previous direct management experience is a plus
- Experience with and passion for Google’s consumer products is a plus
